Biography
Vandal Savage has stalked Earth for millennia. He attributes this to various causes, including a mystic meteor, blood sacrifice rituals to forgotten gods, even harvesting the organs of his countless descendants. Decades ago, he was Cherry Blossom Killer Jonathan Savage: abandoning a wife and daughter to fulfil these rituals. Over 1,000 years ago, he founded the Demon Knights, a fractious order of early metahuman immortals. Over 40,000 years ago, he was Neanderthal caveman Vandar Adg, who stumbled upon a comet fragment during a battle with his Cro-Magnon rivals.
That is the true source of his power and immortality: an aspect of primordial creation heralding the return of Creation's dark mother, Perpetua. Having haunted all of history, covertly stoking wars and schooling tyrants, in the twentieth century Savage began clashing with numerous superheroes.
He joined many iterations of super-villainous teams, battled the legendary mystic warrior Pandora, and even (reluctantly) joined Justice League United. All the while biding his time for the return to Earth of his precious comet.
He duelled Batman, and host of heroes across time and space to recover a mysterious Faberge Egg, containing a White Lantern power ring before his latest Injustice Gang lost a war against Lex Luthor’s Legion of Doom for possession of it–in actuality a reality-bending artefact known as The Totality...
